Suleymaniye Mosque

In my post about the Galata Tower, I labeled a picture of a mosque as "another mosque".  Well that other mosque was the Suleymaniye Mosque.  I have a very difficult time remembering the name of that mosque.  In fact I can't even spell it properly because I have not figured out how to use foreign characters in Blogger yet.  Oh well!

Suleymaniye Mosque is number two on the list of mosques to visit in Istanbul.  I really enjoyed it though because unlike The Blue Mosque, there is not a huge crowd of tourists queued up to see it!

Wait.  What time is it?

I think this is where the Islam version of a sermon is delivered.  To me it looks like a set piece from Elton John's Aida!

Make up your mind.

I would one day like to see a demonstration of these being used.  Though I do not particularly want to be standing under as the boiling hot pitch is poured out.

The view facing north from the Suleymaniye Mosque.

Diamond in the rough?
